The Irish word for friend is cara, which would be used as a greeting at the beginning of a letter. It would translate to addressing a letter with the expression “O Friend!” The Innisfree collection was a collaboration between friends inspired by Yeats with our Arranmore yarn and it seemed appropriate to name one of the pieces with this lovely salutation.

Featuring The Fibre Co. Arranmore yarn, Innisfree is a collection of designs inspired by the reflective mood of William Butler Yeats’ poem “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” which begins with the words “I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree…I will arise and go now, for always night and day, I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore.”
