  • Have you heard of @knitcrate? We’re this months featured yarn company which means you’ll find three skeins of The Fibre Co. Canopy Fingering in your subscription box, yay!@Tina.say.knits has designed the patterns included with your Artisan Crate which you can see if you swipe on this post. The cherry on the top is that the Soft Braids Shawl for Intermediate/Advanced knitters and Gradient Ripples, the beginner friendly pattern, are knitted using two brand new colourways we just released. Love in a Mist, a delicate ethereal shade and Lantana a vibrant hot pink. Find more info via the link in @knitcrate’s bio .

  • How about a new cosy cast on this weekend? We love the Winter Harbour Shawl by @threadandladle which came out this week and calls for four skeins of The Fibre Co. Tundra. Beatrice tells us the pattern is repetitive enough that the knitter can easily make the shawl bigger – and knit it in any yarn weight, but we love that she chose to use our luxury bulky yarn Tundra. Find Winter Harbour Shawl on Ravelry now and search for your local Tundra stockist via the link in our bio. .

  • On a blustery September day last year photographer Nick got the team out from behind their desks and down to St Bee’s Head to shoot our Foundations SS19 Collection on the beach. Beth who is Daphne’s Assistant does have a hand in most things at The Fibre Co. but we don’t think she knew modelling would become part of the job! Thank you for all that you do at The Fibre Co. Beth. Swipe to see Beth wearing Seacote, South Head & Eartha Bee. You can find the patterns on Ravelry now via the link in our bio. (Daphne our Founder pictured left wears Irish Sea & Maggi a long time consultant and friend of The Fibre Co. wears West Cumberland on the right) .

  • Isn’t this Lingholm shawl a beauty?! We’re so happy Deanna from @needlesinthehay was able to snap a picture of Chia-wen showing off her shawl to share with us. We love it in this bright pink shade of Road to China Lace called Rhodolite. If you’re inspired to cast on your own lace shawl, Hiroko Payne of @thehareandthecrow designed Lingholm for our Waves Collection which you can find on a Ravelry now. .

  • Someone asked us some important questions today about what we are planning to do going forward to be more inclusive. Our feed and content is nowhere near as diverse as it should be and it is very important to us that we change that. We are an open, inclusive brand at heart and we understand that this message has not come across through our actions and the visuals we share here and on other platforms. This is our fault and something we will actively change.
We haven't been clear enough and want the community to know our doors are open to all BIPOC. You are welcome here and we want to hear from you. We work with the fibre community in a variety of ways and we would love for you to email daphne@thefibreco.com if any of the following sound of interest!
Firstly, we love supporting indie designers to self-publish designs using The Fibre Co. yarn through our Yarn Support Programme. We also collaborate throughout the year with designers on our in-house collections. We also have a Beta Knitting team who are made up of makers in our community who love to share their projects on Instagram. They apply to knit new designs before anyone else using yarn that we provide. They are invited to share their progress and experience knitting with our yarn on social media. If you are interested in collaborating with us or would like to be in front of or behind of the camera, we would love to hear from you! Sample knitters and test knitters we know you're also reading this and we want to connect.
To those of you that struggle to see yourself reflected in our community, we are so sorry. We want to work with you. You are always welcome here.
