Introducing Arranmore Light

Announcing Fell Garth II & Arranmore Light

Today, we are so excited to bring you the latest yarn by The Fibre Co., Arranmore Light.  Arranmore Light is a DK weight version of our popular aran weight of the same blend, Arranmore. 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, and 10% silk creates an incredibly soft yet warm and lightweight fabric. There is plenty of texture built into the yarn from the wool nepps, small bits of tangled fibres in multiple shades that are dyed first prior to blending and spinning. This release includes 18 shades, with each 100g hank providing 300m / 328yds.

Announcing Fell Garth II

Today is particularly special as we are releasing this yarn into the wild along with our latest collection, Fell Garth II. Fell Garth II draws together 19 pieces, designed by 10 knitwear designers whose work we greatly admire. Here you find a collection rich in texture, with clever constructions that make the knitting process as enjoyable as wearing the finished item. We invite you to join us as we return once again to walk the Cumbrian Fells; we know you’ll be warm when you do.

Beckside

For this collection, we have drawn inspiration directly from our yarns that have been designed to show the beauty that nature provides. It seemed fitting to return to Fell Garth once more and set these 19 pieces amongst the natural beauty that we see from our windows every day. This is a story that begins with deep love for the best of beautiful English countryside that surrounds our home. The Arranmore, Cumbria and Knightsbridge lines all celebrate the heritage of tweed, British wool traditions and the luxurious hand The Fibre Co. is best known for. We offer this collection for wool lovers, for fibre enthusiasts and for the women of this community whom we respect and admire. We hope every knitter feels represented by the garment options, designed with real women in mind.

A Collection Inspired by Cumbria & Our Yarns

Within the collection you will find designs named after locations and special places in Cumbria that helped shape our day to day lives. For example there’s Bassenfell, a local manor hour that was originally owned by Rathbone family who built Fell Garth. Binsey, an architectural sweater with strong, flattering lines, is named after a nearby hill that our founder Daphne can view from her office each day as she sits at her desk, busy at work. These are the places we walk to relax, where we find ourselves and draw strength from. When team members meet at the homestead, we all walk to view these places from up high on the hill where Fell Garth was built.
