I am sad to say this, as I have been a fan of the Fibre company for a long time. Road to china light is one of my favorite next to skin yarns. I purchased this yarn from a yarn shop in Salem Oregon 4-5 years ago and knit the Georgetown sweater in the color way fair hill. It started pulling before it was even off the needles. It pulled so bad after the first wear I never wore it again. The underarms even had dangly pills. I have been knitting for 15 years and I have never had an item pill so badly. The project photos on ravelry don’t seem to have this issue. Either they haven’t pilled yet, or I got a bad batch. Either way, after hours of investment I was very disappointed. I have tried depilling it, but they just come back.
I am absolutely in love with this yarn. It's very soft. I'm working o a cabled vest and the cables look so good. I also love that I haven't finished the first skein and I'm almost half way through my project.
I'll definitely consider getting more for future projects.
This yarn is wonderful to knit with and so soft an comforting to wear!
It’s a nice soft yarn. The fabric it made was not too light, not too dense. It seems closer to a DK than a Worsted though.
Cumbria is a favorite yarn of mine. It has a great hand, knits up like a dream, and blocks beautifully. In colder climates, a sweater made out of it is a must.

This is beautiful yarn. I am currently knitting the Stillwater cardigan by Marie Green. I plan to buy more yarn in the near future.
This is just the most beautiful color and the yarn is a dream to work with. The deep golden hue is has a black undertone that creates dramatic definition, along with just the right amount of sheen — I couldn’t be happier to start my sweater in this color.

I used Cumbria to knit a hat and house socks as a Christmas gift, using US 4 needles. Cumbria is soft yet sturdy and after a wash the yarn relaxes and all the stitches are smooth. The die is stable, no running of colors.
